Med Spa News Network reports on one question the aesthetics industry rarely answers plainly: who is actually treating you?

The med spa boom put injectables, lasers, and prescription weight-loss drugs into storefronts across the country. Who may legally perform those treatments — and who must supervise the person doing it — varies enormously by state, and almost none of it is visible from a clinic's website. Most of it is, however, a matter of public record.

We read those records and report what they say. Licensing and credentials. Medical direction requirements. Scope of practice. Who owns the business. We link the source for every claim and date it, because a licensing record that was accurate in July may not be in September.

What we don't do

We do not review or rate treatments. Whether a given injectable, laser, or protocol is supported by evidence is a different question, covered by our sister publication MedSpa Daily. We do not host patient reviews, and we do not aggregate ratings from Google, Yelp, or anywhere else.

We are published by Biosignal Media and are not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any med spa, franchise group, device manufacturer, or pharmaceutical company. We do not sell the treatments we cover.
